Sarasota, FL – Lightshare Behavioral Wellness & Recovery, Inc. is excited to announce its receipt of the Southface Institute’s GoodUse Grant for the second time, as announced on August 6th, 2024. This matching grant will enable Lightshare to further enhance the environmental and financial sustainability of its facilities.
The first GoodUse Grant was pivotal in upgrading HVAC systems, lighting, and insulation, that significantly improving energy efficiency of the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) building—new home of our “No Wrong Door Walk-In Center.” The CSU was built in 1991, and the last minor renovations took place in 2015. The upcoming ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Access Center will celebrate these improvements and their impact on providing comprehensive care to those in need.
Shawny Robey, CEO of Lightshare, expressed her gratitude for the previous and current awarding from Southface. “The energy savings will allow us to allocate more resources to aid our community. This is making a difference that will allow us to keep clients safe while reducing cost which in turn aids in pouring valuable resources in life-saving treatment.” The GoodUse program by Southface Institute helps nonprofits like Lightshare reduce operating costs through increased energy and water efficiency, allowing them to reinvest savings into their core community services.
The GoodUse Grant, whose upgrades took place in the same location with an existing project: “No Wrong Door Walk-In Center,” could not have been achieved without the continual support of our donors, the Barancik Foundation, and William G. and Marie Selby Foundation, state and county representatives. Their commitment has been vital to our mission.” The ribbon cutting for this event will take place October 24th, 2024. Further details to come.
